UMB Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: UMBF) is a financial services holding company headquartered in Kansas City, Mo. Its banking subsidiaries own and operate 136 banking centers throughout Missouri, Illinois, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Arizona.
UMB wanted to replace its existing file transfer system which was a combination of FTP, homegrown, and legacy applications. The systems were lacking in functionality, difficult to manage, and costly to maintain. After a thorough evaluation of the marketplace, they chose CyberFusion Integration Suite (CFI)®, from Proginet.
UMB was able to quickly and efficiently integrate its existing file transfer processes onto the new CFI system. They now rely on CFI to manage more than 1,000 file transfers daily, both within and across the organization, and externally with customers, vendors and business partners. Adopting CFI has enabled them to move to a secure client/server model using standard Internet protocols such as FTP/s, sFTP and HTTP/s. CFI’s broad protocol support has made it infinitely easier to integrate their complex partner network. Partners can easily and securely transfer transactional files over the Internet using a standard Web browser; there’s no need to install additional software on the client side.
Moreover, CFI has enabled the bank to achieve extensive automation across the entire process. Transfers can be scheduled, triggered by other actions (post-processing), or initiated into other servers and applications.
