CFI Commerce Server™ is a full-featured EDI and integration solution for B2B data exchange and is appropriate for a range of vertical industries including healthcare, retail, manufacturing, and financial services. Commerce Server supports EDI, the standard data format for exchanging business data, as well as XML, CSV, database, and many other formats, while providing full transaction mapping, transformation, and auditing functionality.
Streamline Your Global Trading Process, Achieve Total Visibility
EDI is a powerful tool in the hands of organizations looking to streamline and automate complex global business processes. But it presents challenges: businesses must operate in an environment where hundreds, and even thousands, of electronic business documents must be exchanged on a daily basis with trading partners. Being able to quickly and easily identify issues is critical for these organizations. Commerce Server allows you to view the contents of a business document at all stages of processing, with full auditability of the results for each processing step. Event notification alerts you of all issues, allowing you to take action in real time to determine where processing failed and how to correct and re-process the problem business document.
Internet EDI: Drive Your Global Partner Integration Strategy
Commerce Server also supports Internet EDI, enabling organizations to transition from, and eliminate, value-added networks (VANs) or leased lines, and the high associated costs. Companies using Commerce Server for Internet EDI can integrate suppliers and trading partners seamlessly over the Internet, with zero transaction cost. That's a huge plus for any organization.
A core component of CyberFusion Integration Suite (CFI)™, Proginet's flagship solution for B2B data movement, Commerce Server enables seamless integration between your organization's backend systems and your external business partners. Combined with CFI's Internet Server, you'll have all the necessary components to drive your B2B integration strategy.
Commerce Server provides the core EDI functionality, including transformation, workflow, and trading-partner management.
Internet Server provides the secure communications and supports a wide variety of protocols including AS2 and HTTPs so that your organization's flexibility is fully maximized.
Security Layer
Commerce Server's security layer integrates with CFI's security modules, providing authentication and authorization of all Commerce Server users, and ensuring organizations have the highest levels of security for their installation.
Administration Layer
All aspects of Commerce Server are administered centrally from a common location. From this central location, you can define user access rights, what documents are to be sent/received, in what format, using which communications protocols, what steps are to be used to process the documents, and who should be "alerted" when issues arise. This approach provides easy management of the system, ensuring that: a) problems are identified quickly; b) it is easy to determine why they occurred; c) you can ensure that the information is routed quickly to the appropriate party.
Management and Reporting Layer
Commerce Server's management and reporting layer handles all auditing and reporting functionality within the system. The audit management layer provides details on processing at the Business Document, File, Task, and Process level. As documents are processed, detailed log files from every step in the process are maintained here. Comprehensive online inquiry tools and a wide variety of status and audit reports give management a complete picture of all activity at any time. In addition, real-time e-mail alerts deliver status reports on specific transactions and their results. This powerful feature ensures total control over all aspects of document movement and comprehensive management at all times.
Document Management Layer
Commerce Server's document management layer carries out the processing of all data upon its arrival into the system. The first aspect is the trading partner management component, which is used to identify the data source and validate it against rules defined for that trading partner. These steps must be completed before processing continues. The transformation component provides the ability to convert from any "source" format to any "target" format and allows information to flow between the organization's various internal systems and external trading partners. Finally, the workflow component executes the various tasks defined for a given business process based on timed, event-driven, or manual initiation.
Trading Partner Management
A common practice within the EDI community is for trading partners to document their EDI Implementation Guidelines. These guidelines clearly define what document types and formats the partner expects during the exchange of electronic documents. Commerce Server comes configured with over 150 predefined trading partner or industry-specific EDI implementations. In addition, it is easy to add your own to the system. This approach significantly cuts down on the time and effort required to establish your connections and to begin exchanging electronic documents with trading partners.Data Transformation
In many cases, the format your internal systems store data is not the format you must provide when exchanging with trading partners: this is where transformation comes in. Commerce Server provides support for a wide variety of industry-standard data formats, simplifying the conversion of data when sending to or receiving from suppliers and business partners. With hundreds of preconfigured data validation and mapping definitions for specific trading partners or industries, Commerce Server allows you to get up and running quickly, converting data received from your partners and bringing it directly into your backend applications. Commerce Server supports a variety of data types including EDI, XML, TXT, ASCII, database and binary files.Built in Workflow Operations
Providing automated integration between your business partners and your backend systems is fundamental to the overall design of Commerce Server. The built in business process management allows you to define all of the steps of your process, and have Commerce Server manage the execution and monitoring of that process. By fully automating the process with Commerce Server, you will significantly reduce errors and improve overall business performance.
